When I sketch, I think with my hand. Each line is a decision, sometimes a question — the drawing isn't a record of the idea, it's the idea being worked out in real time.
What's collected here are the studies and sketches that come first, before the renderings tighten everything up. They're worth looking at for what they leave open: form still being argued with, programme still finding its footing, a project before it knows what it wants to look like.
